Invitation to bid to consultants for assessing client satisfaction

1.Brief Introduction

Ago project entitled; Improving Sexual and Reproductive Health Outcomes of Afari Young People has started its inception phase implementation since July 2018. Currently, the project has already started actual implementation. The project is designed to be implemented in 14 districts of Afar regional state located in Zone 1, Zone 3, Zone 4 and Zone 5. A consortium of four organizations namely EngenderHealth, Amref Health Africa, Trigerise and Philips Health Africa will implement the project. EngenderHealth leads and coordinates the consortium and the overall implementation and management of the project. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the improvement of sexual and reproductive health outcomes of youth in the region. The project focuses on SRH demand creation, increasing access to and quality SRH services, and creating  enabling environment for adolescent and youth as well as young women and men to exercise their SRH entitlements.

 2.Summary of Beneficiaries

The project has initially targeted to reach directly around 92,500 young people between the ages of 10 – 29. To reach the target, the project will support a total of at least 31 public health centers; 103 health post; 21 private health facilities, 10 mobile health teams, 42 pharmacies and drug venders and more than 34 schools including 21 primary schools, 9 secondary schools and 4 higher education institutions. The project will also train more than 572 health care workers (including 200 HEWs). All the district health offices, the regional heath bureau and its staff, as well as the Afar Regional Women and Child Affairs and Youth and Sport bureaus will be indirectly benefited. Moreover, a total of close to 680,543 people from all the target zones will indirectly benefit from this project.

3. Aims and Objectives of Assessing Client Satisfaction

The overall aims of assessing client satisfaction is to identify whether SRH and other related services are meeting the needs of clients who attend facilities (hospitals, health centers, health posts, outreach services and private facilities) and to identify areas to improve the quality of SRH services and ensure client satisfaction. Furthermore, this information will be used as a baseline for monitoring and evaluation of the project. The objectives of assessing client satisfaction through exit interview are:    

  • to assess clients’ satisfaction and their experiences at various health service delivery points;
  •  to assess the client socio demographic profile including  level of education, marital and employment status in relation to SRH service utilization and
  • tostudy the extent to which adolescents and youth, pastoralists communities and the underserved are accessing SRH service.
